I got a lovely surprise in the mail today from Ros. When I opened the bag it had a lovely teacosy and there was a box of Twinings Special Tea Selection with 60 individually wrapped sachets of tea.....but hold on, there is more.....a letter from Quarantine to advise they have quarantined the two packets of Lady Grey tea that has lemon and orange in them. Now I am bamboozled here. I am reading the box of ingredients and it states that the tea is "infused" and "flavoured" with orange, lemon and bergamot. Are these people that work there just stupid or do that just not have any common sense. How can you confuse those words with the fact that this tea does not have orange and lemons pieces in the teabags? So, I ring them. I discussed this with "Paul" who tells me he can see that its says it is "infused" and that it does have "flavouring" but because it states that it has 3% orange peel and 3% lemon peel it doesn't matter that it says its infused or flavoured with these things. I tell "Paul" to feel free to open one of the teabags to confirm if it has pieces of orange or lemon peel in it..but NO, he won't do that....can you hear me getting annoyed....agghhhh....so I ask him for an email address so I can put a complaint in as I am not happy!!! So....I have put my case forward via email with links to websites with the ingredients and the references of "infused" and "flavoured"......and I will fight on for my Lady Grey teabags.....yes, I am stubborn and I don't care that it might only be a few teabags....its the fact that some of these people need to use some damn common sense...for goodness sake...we can buy these teas in our own damn shops.....they don't get quarantined!!!

I also received in the mail some lovely goodies from Linda...these lovely ladies have been so thoughtful sending me a little something to say thanks for hosting the FRIENDS swap. You know it was really my pleasure to do this and to meet so many great new friends. I really have enjoyed the friendship part of this swap. This cute little owl is going to have a magnet put on the back and put on my fridge. There is a coaster with teabags in the pocket and a teaspoon. Then she has made what I believe is a recipe holder that I can hang on a hook in the kitchen to have the recipe cards handy....oh and a cute bookmark. I do love Mary Englebriet stuff.

I'm sorry they chose to quarantine the best tea bags in the box - Lady Grey is my favourite of all time. Perhaps they are supping it themselves! Good luck with your mission. Ros
Hi Khris,
I know all about quarantine... many a time have I opened a lovingly-wrapped parcel from the UK to find it has been anihilated for no good reason! Anyway, on a positive note, you have some beautiful gifts! Enjoy!

Does quarantine mean that they'll keep the tea bags for only a certain time and then let them go as they do with animals?
Sound to me like the prerequisite of becoming a customs officer in any country is the inability to read, the inability to make viable decisions, stupidity and anything else you care to add to the list.
How frustrating! I too would make it my life's ambition to make 'Paul's' life miserable. Have at him, Khris!
Hi Khris, I recently had a parcel opened as well, nothing inside that warranted it to my eye...you have received some lovely gifties...hugs lyn
Aren't customs/quarantine a pain in the rear. I had a doorstop sent to me from Aussie which was filled with uncooked rice and they held it until I got in contact with them.
No thanks, don't drink tea! Ikkky stuff.
Love the gifts your friends gave you, ya lucky tart! Though I can't talk... I got gifts recently too! Ain't bloggers lovely!
It does make you wonder what on earth these people do i mean that it a teabag i just don't understand it now if it was a orange i could, may be e-mail Twinnings & ask them for the break down of it then send the reply to them idiots so you get your teabags back
Still lovely gifts that you received
Hugs Janice
Great gifts there Khris. I know what you mean about customs.Australian customs wouldn't let my sister take a packet of seeds out of Aus to New Zealand. They were sunflower seeds which were given out at the end of my brothers funeral. She wasn't even allowed to keep the packet which had his photo on it.At about the same time my nephew had sent me a thank you card which had a skeltonised leaf on it. It wasn't allowed into Aus,if I wanted my newphew to have it back(NZ) I had to pay about $45.00 to return it. They sent me a roughly cut out photocopy of it.My Mum received the letter,it got through customs!!! So customs are not high on my list either. Enjoy what tea you have left. I wonder how importers get on??? I have had my winge now. Have a great evening.
Khris , first you didn't win my giveaway and then you had to deal with "Paul" ! This week really will get better . Go down to your post below with the comics , they made me laugh , lol !Take Care .
Tiens une chouette, lol....
